HIRE HER! Because of an unexpected turn of events, the photographer who was intended to shoot our wedding had to back out only a few weeks before the big day and so she referred us to Jenni – who quickly became the photographer of our dreams. Living in separate states, I only spoke with Jenni over the phone, but we had an instant connection. After we got to know each other a bit, Jenni asked tons of questions about how our wedding day would flow, our tastes and style when it came to photography, who were the “must catch” family and friends whose pictures we had to have, what was important to us in terms of the final product … pretty much everything you could imagine! She was thorough in an intuitive manner – Jenni didn’t run down a script of questions … this woman knows how to understand and relate to her client and to instinctively probe further, while explaining her process and also generating new ideas that would meet our expectations. Her expert opinion and creativity truly informed the decisions we made about the type of pictures to request.
Ours was a destination wedding in Florida and this unconventional bride and groom had never bothered to visit the resort before the wedding weekend … so we were no more familiar with the location and possible photo backdrops than Jenni!! When we finally met in person, we all had a fantastic rapport. Wandering around the property together for what would become our “engagement photo shoot,” Jenni cracked jokes to keep things relaxed and we all goofed around like a trio of best buddies. Maybe that sounds odd for this kind of event, but it was perfect – the photos are simply outstanding and reflect who we are and the happiness we felt.
All of that helped set the tone for wedding day pictures that captured the essence of my and John’s personalities, as well as the love and joy that we and our guests experienced on that day. Jenni was able to put us at such ease for a variety of posed and candid pictures – even romantic shots of us kissing or looking into each others eyes were comfortable and natural because she knows how to tell you what she’s looking for in the shot and then fade back so that you quickly forget she’s even there taking your picture. The end product is so natural and moving and romantic. The online montage of wedding photos set to our first dance song regularly brings people to tears and evokes a reaction of “Wow – it’s like I’m right there.” Since we had a small wedding, it means so much to us that people we love who weren’t in attendance can look at Jenni’s pictures and feel as if they were part of our day.
Jenni is an artist committed to her beautiful craft and to the complete satisfaction of her client. She and her assistant (who she’d only met that weekend … this was truly a last minute plan!!) worked seamlessly together as if they’d been partnering on wedding shoots for years. To me, this is a testament to her professionalism and showcased her ability to generate a warm relationship on the spot. After taking all the standard reception photos, the two of them would dash out of the reception, then back in to tell us they’d found an amazing setting if we could just steal a few minutes away for a quick shot. Completely trusting Jenni’s eye, we’d dash out with them … and it was well worth it. The pool side kiss under the moon and the embrace against a sea shell wall are some of the most beautiful and artistic photos in the collection.
Jenni Carmon is unique in both her photographic talent and her ability to connect with and see who you are and then translate that to pictures beautiful beyond words. Her work speaks for itself and she is the photographer we will work with to capture every special moment to come in our lives as husband and wife. Beyond that, she’s someone I’m honored to now call a friend. You simply can not go wrong when you work with Jenni. HIRE HER!

We were lucky enough to have Jenni photograph our wedding on October 4, 2008. We first met her during our engagement picture session and I knew we had the right person because we literally laughed the entire time. We felt so comfortable with her and that was really reflected in our pictures. When we received our engagement pictures back it was so hard to decide which ones to order because they were all great and you could just see our personalities shining through. When we showed the pictures to our family and friends they said it was like they could hear us laughing and they could see how happy we were.
I remember when Jenni came into the Bridal Room on our wedding day; I felt like I was seeing an old friend! She captured everything beyond my expectations that day and had everyone laughing and smiling. People were at ease around her, we never felt rushed, and we got through our list of ‘must-have’ pictures more quickly than I thought possible leaving more time for Bride and Groom pictures and for us to relax before the wedding ceremony.
When we received our wedding pictures and saw the slideshow, it brought tears to our eyes. Everything was so beautiful and the pictures told the story perfectly. There was not one thing, not one moment, missing from the photographs. People laugh at us when they come to our house because we have the pictures everywhere!
The pictures speak for themselves, but we can both speak to Jenni’s great attitude, her fun-loving personality, and the natural way that everyone around her felt at ease on our wedding day.
We are so thankful that she was a part of our wedding and really look forward to seeing her again and having her capture more of our life moments!
