J. Carmon Photography bio picture

Hi there!  Welcome to my blog,  I am so glad you can take a moment to check things out. Whether you are a current or future client, family member, or friend, I hope you can learn a little bit more about me through this blog.

My most recent work will always be found here.  Please subscribe to the blog or check here often.

Okay, a little about me.  I love what I do.  I am blessed with three beautiful daughters and a VERY supportive husband.

I love to travel and my idea of a perfect vacation is basking in the beautiful, warm sun.  I love German Chocolate cake (only my Mom's) and will NEVER pass up the mashed potatoes.

I am so lucky to be able to do what I love.  I have wonderful clients and feel so blessed that they allow me to capture such special moments for them.

I also LOVE hearing from visitors, so please, do not just stalk my blog, leave me some comment love.

Great camera

There was a man who was an avid photographer. He had just returned from vacation and was visiting friends for dinner. While there, he shared his vacation photos with them. They were awed by the great images he captured. Finally, the woman of the house said to him, “Those are great photos. You must have a really great camera.” The man just smiled and nodded. As the man was preparing to leave, he graciously thanked the host. Then he said, “That was a great dinner. You must have really great pots and pans.”

I thought this was a cute little story. I think it takes more than great equipment to be a great photographer but having great equipment sure does help!!!

Derek

I just wanted to take a quick second to publicly thank my amazing husband. He is the best assistant I could ever ask for. He is the reason that I will shoot weddings! I love it when he is able to be my second shooter on weddings because he always goes above and beyond what is expected from him. The Brides and Grooms LOVE Derek and so do I! He is very proud of me and helps me so much, that I just wanted him to know that he is really appreciated. Thanks Derek!

Melissa and Adam, Again

Juat a little something for the happy couple. We were asked to help create a personalized slideshow and this is what happened. We have old photos of them added with photos from the engagement session. This will be a new service from J. Carmon Photography.

Talia and Sascha

These girls are so cute! Can you believe that they are sisters? We cut into Sascha’s naptime, so she only stuck around for a couple of shots but the ones that we were able to capture sure turned out great. Talia was ready for the camera (thanks to the popsicle bribe by mom =) she was up for anything. Look for more of these cuties when my new website launches.

Homemade Strawberry Jam

Traditions are the best. This is one I look forward to each summer. My mom and I get together to make homemade jam. Usually we make strawberry and raspberry but we were a little to early for raspberries yet. The taste on this jam is so fresh and so delicious, you cannot beat it!! Plus, I get to spend quality time with my mom and that makes it all worth it!

Full time

Someone asked me today if I do this full-time. For some reason I answered “No”. I prefer to take a limited number of clients and provide them with a custom and personal experience. Yet, even with my limited shooting schedule, I still find myself spending close to 40 hours (if not more – yikes!) every week on business related activities. Between shooting, prepping, proofing, corresponding, dealing with the lab, packaging, paperwork, bookkeeping (yuck! LOL), and all the other things involved in running a business of any scale…I find that there really is no such thing as “part-time” in this business. And that is why I sit at my computer usually well after midnight, while my family sleeps…super-mom by day.
