Portland Children Photographer – Riley turns two today

I know everyone warns you how fast time is going to fly when you are a parent but you cannot really know what this will be like until you experience this yourself.  Riley is two today, man the time has gone by fast!   Riley is such a sweet spirit  We are so glad that she is in our life and cannot imagine our life without her.

Here’s to you baby girl!  We love you!

Portland Children Photographer – Candid Riley

Riley was looking so cute the other day, I just had to take the opportunity to catch a couple of shots.

Portland Photographer – New York from Brooklyn

I just arrived back into Oregon this morning.  I have been in New York for the past several days and am beginning to work again.  I have some great images from sessions I photographed before I left that I will be posting really soon.

Here is an image I shot from the waterfront in Brooklyn looking back towards the New York City Skyline.  After I shot this image my husband and I walked hand in hand across the Brooklyn bridge.  Probably one of the most romantic evenings we have ever had.

Enjoy!

Portland Children’s Photographer – Riley and the red chair

When booking a children’s session and speaking with me over the phone, try to think of the cute, sweet little things your children are loving at the age they are at.  For example, here are some of my daughter.

She LOVES hats.  She can now say “hat” and it is understandable.  She will find them all over the house, place them on, and get the biggest kick out of wearing them.

She LOVES her shoes.  These pink converse are pretty much attached to my child at all times, in fact the other night she said, “shues, shues” her word for shoes and demanded that she sleep in them, so I let her :)

She LOVES suckers.  When I receive your orders back from the lab they package them with a sucker.  My kids rush to the door when the UPS man rings the doorbell and it is a fight to see who will get the sucker, of course Riley wins out because she is the baby.  I used it here as a bribe…yes, I bribe :)

She LOVES her baby.  It is an old antique doll that is totally naked and she carries it upside down by one leg.  She will find blankets, wrap the baby up and snuggle it.

She LOVES peak -a-boo, what kid doesn’t.  It usually will bring a smile to all kids faces, I even try it on big kids, they just laugh at me because they think I am a total Dork but I don’t care…whatever works.

I took Riley out for a quick session to try and capture some of her favorite things at this age.  When I say quick, I mean it, this session was no longer than 15 minutes from start to finish.  Try to let me know of the things your child loves when booking your session so we can include it.  It makes things more personal and it will make a memory of where they are at RIGHT now because it goes so fast, you do not want to forget!

Portland Children’s Photographer – pillow fights and ring around the rosy

I love my children so much and they are growing up way too fast.  I wish sometimes that I could stop and fully take in every second, remember every breath, every laugh, and every smile.  My goal this year has been to be present, be present in whatever it is that I am doing at the time,  and it has made such an impact on my life.  I have enjoyed things SO much more, it has been amazing.

Here my girls are after the bath the other night having a pillow fight and playing ring around the rosy.  I love these because I can really  hear their laughter when I look at them.  I love the way Kennedy’s curls are bouncing and the way Riley is just trying to keep up.  I will cherish these always.  I plan on making three large images of the same size for Kennedy’s room.  I know she will glance at them daily and I hope that they too will bring a smile to her face as they do to mine.
